Pelvic Ultrasound
Pelvic ultrasound is a safe and informative examination that evaluates the condition of the reproductive system organs.
During the examination, the physician assesses the uterus, endometrium, ovaries, fallopian tubes (when visible), and surrounding tissues, detecting possible changes: cysts, fibroids, inflammatory processes, signs of endometriosis, and other pathologies.
The examination helps diagnose gynecological conditions at an early stage, monitor treatment effectiveness, and track the condition of pelvic organs over time.
The procedure is performed transabdominally (through the anterior abdominal wall) or transvaginally, depending on medical indications. It is painless, safe, and takes approximately 10–15 minutes.
Location: Almaty, Aksai-5 district, 12A
Preparation depends on the method of examination.
For transabdominal ultrasound:
- you must arrive with a full bladder — drink 1–2 glasses of water 30–60 minutes before the procedure and avoid urinating.
For transvaginal ultrasound:
- no special preparation is required;
- the bladder should be empty.
Women of reproductive age are generally recommended to have the examination on days 5–7 of the menstrual cycle, unless the doctor has specified a different time.
If available, it is advisable to bring the results of any previous ultrasound examinations.
Pelvic ultrasound is recommended for:
- lower abdominal pain
- menstrual cycle irregularities
- suspected cysts or fibroids
- infertility
- pregnancy planning
- monitoring of previously diagnosed gynecological conditions
- routine preventive checkup
