Anti-MCV — antibodies to modified citrullinated vimentin, quantitative
The test detects antibodies to modified citrullinated vimentin (MCV). Used for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) diagnosis and monitoring, disease activity assessment, and prognosis.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting 8-12 hours (no water);
- exclude fatty food and alcohol 24 hours before;
- avoid physical activity and stress 30 minutes before.
- Inform physician of hormonal, immune, or anti-inflammatory drug intake.
- Suspected early rheumatoid arthritis;
- joint pain and swelling;
- morning joint stiffness;
- positive rheumatoid factor with equivocal symptoms;
- established RA activity monitoring.
Negative — anti-MCV antibodies not detected.
Positive — anti-MCV antibodies detected; characteristic of rheumatoid arthritis.
Note: Results evaluated only together with clinical symptoms and other laboratory parameters.
