Anti-Scl-70 (antibodies to topoisomerase I, scleroderma marker)
The test detects Anti-Scl-70 antibodies — specific autoantibodies most often found in systemic scleroderma. Used for early diagnosis, disease activity assessment, and complication risk prognosis.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting 8-12 hours;
- exclude alcohol 24 hours before;
- avoid stress and physical activity 30 minutes before.
- Inform physician of immunomodulator or anti-inflammatory drug intake.
- Suspected systemic scleroderma;
- severe skin lesions with thickening and hardening;
- internal organ involvement symptoms (lungs, heart, kidneys);
- differential diagnosis of autoimmune connective tissue diseases;
- positive ANA results.
Negative — Anti-Scl-70 antibodies not detected.
Positive — antibodies detected; indicates high systemic scleroderma risk or presence.
Note: Positive result evaluated together with clinical picture and other studies.
