Anti-TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb)
The test detects antibodies to TSH receptors. These antibodies can stimulate or block thyroid function. Used for Graves' disease diagnosis, activity assessment, and treatment monitoring.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
Draw blood fasting 8-12 hours; exclude fatty food and alcohol 24 hours before; avoid stress and physical activity 30 minutes before. Inform physician of hormonal drugs or thyroid treatment agents intake.
- Hyperthyroidism symptoms (palpitations, sweating, weight loss, anxiety);
- thyroid enlargement;
- eye protrusion (exophthalmos);
- TSH, T3, T4 level changes; suspected Graves' disease;
- thyrotoxicosis treatment efficacy monitoring.
Negative — antibodies not detected.
Positive — anti-TSH receptor antibodies detected; characteristic of Graves' disease.
Note: Results evaluated by physician together with thyroid hormone levels and clinical symptoms.
