Anti-Yersinia enterocolitica and Anti-Yersinia pseudotuberculosis Antibodies IgM (Serum)
The test is designed to detect IgM class antibodies — a marker of acute primary infection.
Used for early diagnosis of yersiniosis and pseudotuberculosis.
Prescribed for acute symptoms: fever, diarrhea, intoxication, abdominal pain.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of IgM antibodies to Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis
• Initial stage of the infectious process
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid antibacterial medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• With acute symptoms of intestinal infection (fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain, intoxication)
• When yersiniosis or pseudotuberculosis is suspected
• With sudden deterioration after consuming contaminated food or water
• During outbreaks of intestinal infections or epidemiological examination
• For early diagnosis of acute infection
Important: results are assessed in combination with clinical data.
Negative result
— IgM antibodies to Yersinia not detected
— no current acute infection
Positive result
— presence of IgM antibodies to Yersinia
— indicates a current acute primary infection
Important: physician consultation is necessary for a positive or questionable result.
