Blood hemoculture for typhoid and paratyphoids without antibiotic sensitivity determination
Detects typhoid and paratyphoid pathogens (Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Paratyphi) in blood. Confirms bacteremia and establishes diagnosis at early disease stages.
Deviation mechanism: Typhoid/paratyphoid pathogens enter blood at early disease stages causing bacteremia and systemic infection. Blood hemoculture detects pathogenic organism growth and confirms infection.
Recommended for: acute intestinal infection and fever symptom patients; suspected typhoid fever or paratyphoid; prolonged febrile conditions; infectious practice diagnosis clarification.
Venous blood
Preferably collect before antibiotic therapy
Fast 8-12 hours before collection recommended
Avoid physical activity before collection
Prolonged fever of unknown origin; high temperature with chills; general intoxication (weakness, headache); abdominal pain, stool disorders; suspected typhoid or paratyphoid; epidemiological indications.
Typhoid or paratyphoid pathogens detected — diagnosis confirmed.
Not detected — pathogenic organism growth not found.
Physician makes final assessment.
Note: Sensitivity testing only when clinically significant organism detected.
Recommended physicians: Infectious disease specialist; General Practitioner; Pediatrician (children).
