CA 50 (Cancer Antigen 50, GI tract, pancreas)
CA 50 oncomarker is applied for diagnosis and monitoring of GI tract and pancreatic tumors. Used for treatment efficacy assessment, early recurrence detection, and dynamic patient monitoring.
What the test evaluates:
- CA 50 antigen concentration in blood serum
- Tumor process activity and disease dynamics
- Progression risk or tumor recurrence
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting
- Abstain from food and GI tract-affecting drugs 8-12 hours before
Medications:
- Chemotherapy, hormonal drugs, and GI tract medications may change results
- Inform physician of all medications taken
Recommended for:
- GI tract and pancreatic tumor diagnosis and monitoring
- Suspected gastric, intestinal, or pancreatic cancer
- Post-GI tract surgery patient monitoring
- Comprehensive examination of patients with high GI malignant disease risk
Important: CA 50 level is not used as the sole diagnostic criterion and evaluated together with clinical data, ultrasound, MRI, and other oncomarkers.
