Candidiasis (IgM)
Test for detecting IgM antibodies to Candida albicans and other Candida species. Used for early diagnosis of acute infection and assessment of disease activity. Allows detection of current infection and assessment of treatment necessity.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
Fasting for 8-12 hours; avoid alcohol and potent medications for 24 hours; avoid physical exertion and stress 30 minutes before.
Inform the doctor about antibiotic, immunomodulator, or hormonal medication use.
Acute symptoms of fungal infection of mucous membranes, vagina, oral cavity, or esophagus; pain and discomfort; elevated temperature; suspected immunodeficiency conditions; contact with candidiasis patients; pregnancy planning or preparation for surgical procedures.
Negative — IgM antibodies to Candida not detected.
Positive — IgM antibodies detected, may indicate current or recently past infection, physician consultation required.
Important: presence of IgM does not always mean active disease.
