CARO insulin resistance index
The test is used to assess insulin resistance — a condition in which body cells reduce their insulin sensitivity. Calculated based on fasting glucose and insulin concentrations using the CARO formula. Helps detect early carbohydrate metabolism disorders and risks of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease development.
What the test evaluates:

- Pancreatic beta-cell function under elevated glucose load
Biomaterial: Venous blood (fasting)
- Draw blood fasting
- Exclude intense physical activity, stress, alcohol, caffeine 24 hours before
- Still water is permitted

- Medication discontinuation only by physician agreement
