Chlamydophila pneumoniae Antibodies IgG (Serum)
The study is designed to detect IgG class antibodies to Chlamydophila pneumoniae — the pathogen of atypical respiratory tract infections.
Used for confirming past infection or assessing formed immune response.
Applied in chronic and recurring respiratory tract diseases.
Prescribed for dynamic monitoring, as well as assessing the efficacy of antibacterial therapy performed.
Used in comprehensive diagnosis of chronic and persistent forms of chlamydial infection.
What the test assesses:
– Presence or absence of IgG class antibodies to Chlamydophila pneumoniae.
– Fact of the body's past contact with the pathogen.
– Late infection stage or past disease.
Biomaterial: Venous blood (serum)
– Submit fasting.
– Drinking still water is allowed.
– It is advisable to avoid intense physical exertion within 24 hours.
Medications:
– Antibacterial medication intake usually does not affect IgG antibody levels.
– Immunoglobulins and immunomodulators may affect the test result.
– It is recommended to inform the attending physician or indicate medications taken when submitting the test.
Recommended for testing:
– With prolonged cough, persistent bronchitis, frequent URI recurrences.
– With chronic bronchitis, COPD, interstitial and atypical lung lesions.
– To clarify the stage of chlamydial infection and monitor disease course.
– With frequent and prolonged respiratory tract infections in children.
– Positive result (IgG detected): indicates past infection, late disease stage, or chronic course.
– Negative result (IgG not detected): no contact with the pathogen or early infection stage.
Important — for assessing process activity, simultaneous determination of IgM and IgA is recommended, and if necessary, PCR diagnostics.
