The test detects antibodies to neutrophil cytoplasm (ANCA) — autoantibodies associated with vascular wall inflammation (vasculitis). Used for systemic vasculitis diagnosis and monitoring. Two types distinguished: cANCA — more often associated with granulomatosis with polyangiitis; pANCA — may occur in microscopic polyangiitis, eosinophilic granulomatosis, and other diseases.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting 8-12 hours (no water);
- exclude alcohol 24 hours before;
- avoid stress and physical activity 30 minutes before.
- Inform physician of immunomodulator, hormonal, or anti-inflammatory drug intake.
Suspected systemic vasculitis;
prolonged fever of unclear origin;
joint and muscle pain;
skin rashes, ulcers, hemorrhages;
kidney involvement (protein or blood in urine);
chronic ENT organ and lung inflammation;
established vasculitis activity monitoring.
Negative — antibodies not detected.
Positive — ANCA detected; may indicate systemic vasculitis or other autoimmune disease.
Note: Results evaluated only together with clinical symptoms, antibody titer, and other laboratory parameters.
