CYFRA (Cytokeratin fragment, lungs, bladder)
CYFRA 21-1 oncomarker is applied for diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer and bladder tumors. Used for early malignant neoplasm detection, treatment monitoring, and recurrence control.
What the test evaluates:
- CYFRA 21-1 cytokeratin fragment level in blood serum
- Tumor process dynamics and prognosis
- Therapy efficacy and recurrence risk
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting
- Exclude food and results-affecting drugs 8-12 hours before
Medications:
- Chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and immune drugs may affect results
- Inform physician of all medications taken
Recommended for:
- Confirmed or suspected lung or bladder cancer, treatment monitoring
- Suspected non-small cell lung cancer, metastases, or recurrence
- Bladder tumors
- Comprehensive examination of high oncology risk patients
Important: CYFRA 21-1 level is not used as the sole diagnostic criterion. Results analyzed together with clinical data, instrumental methods (CT, MRI, bronchoscopy), and other oncomarkers.
