Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) (Dehydroepiandrosterone, DHEA, Serum)
The test determines the level of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) — a steroid hormone synthesized predominantly by the adrenal cortex. DHEA is a precursor of androgens and estrogens and participates in hormonal balance formation in men and women. Used to assess adrenal function and identify hyperandrogenism sources. Applied in PCOS, adrenal tumor, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia diagnosis. Recommended for menstrual irregularities, infertility, hirsutism, acne, alopecia, reduced libido.
