Diagnostics of Multiple Sclerosis: Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) Antibody Determination, IIF, Titer
The test detects antibodies to myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG). Used for diagnosing demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, differential diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, and MOG-associated diseases.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Submit fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- Avoid stress and physical exertion 30 minutes before
- If taking immunomodulators, hormonal, or anti-inflammatory medications — inform the doctor.
- suspected multiple sclerosis
- optic neuritis
- spinal cord inflammation (myelitis)
- sensory disturbances
- limb weakness
- unclear focal changes on MRI
Negative result — MOG antibodies not detected.
Positive result — MOG antibodies detected, may indicate MOG-associated demyelinating disease.
Important: the result is assessed only in combination with clinical symptoms, MRI data, and other tests.
