DNA Chlamydia trachomatis — PCR, qualitative
Real-time PCR for Chlamydia trachomatis DNA detection. High sensitivity and specificity including early stages and asymptomatic cases. Used for chlamydiosis diagnosis, treatment monitoring, complication prevention.
Biomaterial: Urethral/cervical swab, mucosal scrape, urethral/cervical epithelium, first-void urine
- Do not urinate 1-2 hours before collection (for urine)
- Do not use topical preparations/douching 24 hours before swab
- Exclude sexual contacts 24 hours before
Medications: Inform physician of antibiotic intake
- Suspected chlamydiosis;
- asymptomatic sexually active patients;
- partner examination;
- treatment efficacy monitoring;
- preventive examinations.
Positive — Chlamydia trachomatis DNA detected; confirms infection.
Negative — DNA not detected; repeat after 1-2 weeks if early infection suspected.
Final interpretation by physician.
