Quantitative PCR for CMV in blood with viral load determination. Assesses systemic infection activity. Especially important for immunocompromised, transplant, oncology, HIV-infected patients, and pregnant women.

- Suspected active CMV;
- chronic CMV and reactivation monitoring;
- immunodeficiency;
- transplant monitoring;
- oncological diseases;
- pregnant women;
- fever of unclear origin.
Positive — CMV DNA in blood with viral load; active virus replication confirmed.
High viral load — pronounced viremia and complication risk.
Negative — not detected.
