Real-time PCR for Mycoplasma genitalium DNA detection including early stages and asymptomatic cases.
Biomaterial: Urethral/cervical swab, mucosal scrape, urethral/cervical epithelium, first-void urine
- Do not urinate 1-2 hours before collection (for urine)
- Do not use topical preparations/douching 24 hours before swab
- Exclude sexual contacts 24 hours before
Medications: Inform physician of antibiotic intake
- Suspected mycoplasmosis;
- asymptomatic sexually active patients;
- partner examination;
- treatment monitoring;
- preventive examinations.
Positive — Mycoplasma genitalium DNA detected.
Negative — not detected.
