Real-time PCR for Trichomonas vaginalis DNA detection including early stages and asymptomatic cases.
Biomaterial: Vaginal, urethral, cervical swab, mucosal scrape, urethral secretion, first-void urine
- Do not urinate 1-2 hours before
- Do not use topical preparations/douching 24 hours before
- Exclude sexual contacts 24 hours before
Medications: Inform physician of antibiotic and antiprotozoal drug intake
- Suspected trichomoniasis;
- asymptomatic sexually active patients;
- partner examination;
- treatment monitoring;
- preventive examinations.
Positive — Trichomonas vaginalis DNA detected.
Negative — not detected.
