The extended hemostasiogram is a comprehensive study of the blood clotting system, including assessment of coagulation, anticoagulant protection, and fibrinolysis.
Test composition includes:
• PT (Prothrombin Time) — assesses the extrinsic clotting pathway
• PI (Prothrombin Index) — clotting factor activity in %
• INR — standardized assessment, anticoagulant monitoring
• APTT — assesses the intrinsic and common clotting pathways
• Fibrinogen (standard and Clauss method) — concentration and functionality
• Thrombin time — final stage of coagulation
• Antithrombin III — main natural clotting inhibitor
• RFMC — fibrinolysis activity and fibrin breakdown products
• D-dimer — indicator of thrombosis and fibrinolysis
Mechanism of abnormalities: hemostasis disorders may be related to deficiency or dysfunction of clotting factors, decreased anticoagulant protection, increased activation of thrombosis or fibrinolysis.
Biomaterial: Venous blood (plasma/serum)
