Gardnerellosis (IgM)
Test for detecting IgM antibodies to Gardnerella vaginalis. Used for early diagnosis of acute infection and determination of disease activity. Allows detection of current infection and assessment of treatment necessity.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
Fasting for 8-12 hours; avoid alcohol and potent medications for 24 hours; avoid physical exertion and stress 30 minutes before. Inform the doctor about antibiotic, immunomodulator, or hormonal medication use.
Acute symptoms of genitourinary system infection; discomfort or vaginal discharge in women; pain and discomfort in the genitourinary area in men; elevated temperature; suspected venereal diseases; contact with gardnerellosis patients; pregnancy planning or preparation for surgical procedures.
Negative — IgM antibodies to Gardnerella vaginalis not detected.
Positive — IgM antibodies detected, may indicate current or recently past infection, physician consultation required.
Important: presence of IgM does not always mean active disease.
