Hepatitis B Core Antibody IgG, Anti-HBc IgG (Serum)
The test determines IgG class antibodies to the hepatitis B core antigen.
Indicates past infection or chronic hepatitis B.
Used for detecting hidden forms of infection.
Applied in comprehensive diagnosis of hepatitis B.
Important: a positive result is assessed together with HBsAg and Anti-HBc IgM to determine infection stage.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of IgG antibodies to HBcAg in serum
• Fact of the body's past contact with hepatitis B virus or chronic infection form
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid intense physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid immunomodulatory medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• In diagnosis of chronic hepatitis
• During preventive examination
• With liver pathologies
Important: results are assessed in combination with clinical data and other hepatitis B markers.
Negative result
— IgG antibodies not detected
— no past or chronic infection
Positive result
— presence of IgG antibodies
— confirms past or chronic infection
