The test determines IgM class antibodies to the hepatitis B core antigen.
Is a marker of acute infection or exacerbation of chronic hepatitis B.
Used for early diagnosis of the disease.
Important for differential diagnosis of hepatitis B forms.
Important: a positive result requires comprehensive assessment together with
HBsAg and Anti-HBc total.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of IgM antibodies to HBcAg in serum
• Active phase of the viral process
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:

• With chronic liver diseases
Important: results are assessed in combination with HBsAg, Anti-HBs, and clinical data.
Negative result
— IgM antibodies not detected
— no signs of acute infection
Positive result
— presence of IgM antibodies
— confirms acute hepatitis B or exacerbation of chronic infection
Important: physician consultation is required for a positive result.
