Hepatitis B e Antigen Antibodies IgG, Anti-HBe IgG (Serum)
The test determines IgG class antibodies to the hepatitis B e-antigen (HBeAg).
Used for assessing the stage and activity of viral hepatitis B.
Allows determination of decreased viral replicative activity and disease transition to a less active phase.
Applied for monitoring chronic hepatitis B course and treatment efficacy.
Important: HBeAg → Anti-HBe seroconversion is a sign of decreased viral activity.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of Anti-HBe IgG antibodies in serum
• HBeAg → Anti-HBe seroconversion as an indicator of decreased viral activity
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid intense physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid antiviral and immunomodulatory medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• During monitoring and treatment of viral hepatitis B
• With chronic liver diseases
• In comprehensive liver examination
Important: results are assessed in combination with HBsAg, Anti-HBc, and clinical data.
Negative result
— Anti-HBe IgG antibodies not detected
— high viral activity or early infection stage
Positive result
— presence of Anti-HBe IgG antibodies
— decreased viral replicative activity, disease transition to a less active phase
Important: physician consultation is necessary for either a positive or negative result.
