Hepatitis B Surface Antibody, Anti-HBs Quantitative (Serum)
The test determines the level of antibodies to the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg).
Used for assessing immunity to hepatitis B after vaccination or past infection.
Allows determination of the degree of immune protection of the body.
Applied during preventive examinations, hospitalization, and pregnancy planning.
Important: the test reflects the quantitative immune response and allows assessment of protection adequacy.
What the test assesses:
• Quantitative level of Anti-HBs antibodies in serum
• Presence and strength of immunity to hepatitis B virus
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid immunomodulatory medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• During preventive examination
• When assessing immune status
• During vaccination and immunity monitoring
Important: results are assessed in combination with vaccination history and other hepatitis B markers.
Low level
— insufficient immunity
— vaccination or revaccination required
Sufficient level
— adequate protection against hepatitis B virus
Elevated level
— possible reaction to recent vaccination or past infection
Important: a physician determines correction of immune status and revaccination decisions.
