Hepatitis E Virus Antibodies, Anti-HEV IgG (Serum)
The test determines IgG class antibodies to the hepatitis E virus.
Used for detecting past infection or a formed immune response.
Applied in epidemiological and preventive examinations.
Included in comprehensive viral hepatitis diagnostics.
Important: a positive result is assessed together with clinical data.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of IgG antibodies to hepatitis E virus in serum
• Fact of past hepatitis E or late infection stage
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid intense physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid immunomodulatory medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• When assessing viral hepatitis history
• During preventive examination
• With chronic liver diseases
Important: results are assessed in combination with HBsAg, Anti-HBc, and other hepatitis markers.
Negative result
— IgG antibodies to hepatitis E virus not detected
— no contact with the virus or hidden infection
Positive result
— presence of IgG antibodies to hepatitis E virus
— indicates past infection and a formed immune response
