HPV HR, DNA Types 16 and 18 (Urogenital Tract Scraping)
Test for detecting high oncogenic risk HPV DNA types 16 and 18 in urogenital tract epithelial cells by PCR. Used for screening precancerous conditions, assessing risk of cervical cancer development and other HPV-related oncological processes, and monitoring after treatment.
Biomaterial: Urogenital tract epithelial cell scraping
Avoid sexual contact for 24-48 hours; do not use vaginal medications, douching, or local antiseptics; preferably submit outside menstruation; avoid colposcopy and invasive procedures before collection.
Cervical dysplasia or cell atypia by cytology (Pap test); suspected HPV infection; chronic urogenital tract mucosal changes; pregnancy planning or preparation for surgical procedures; preventive screening with risk factors.
Negative — HPV DNA types 16 and 18 not detected.
Positive — high oncogenic risk HPV DNA (16 and/or 18) detected, indicates infection presence and increased precancerous or cancerous change risk, specialist monitoring required.
Important: presence of viral DNA does not always mean oncological disease development.
