Immunoglobulin E (IgE) (Immunoglobulin E, Serum)
The test is intended for determination of immunoglobulin E level. Used for diagnosis of allergic diseases and parasitic infections. Prescribed for bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis, pollinosis.
What the test evaluates:
- Concentration of total IgE in blood serum
- Allergic predisposition of the body
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting
- Exclude intense physical activity 24 hours before
Medications:
- Antihistamines generally do not affect total IgE level
- Hormonal therapy may affect results
Recommended for:
- Allergic reactions
- Suspected atopy
- Skin and respiratory symptoms
Important: Results evaluated in combination with clinical data and other allergy markers.
Normal: IgE within normal range; no pronounced allergic reaction
Elevated: IgE above normal; indicates allergic reaction or parasitic infection
Reduced: IgE below normal; rare, may indicate immunodeficiency
