Immunoglobulin G (IgG) (Immunoglobulin G, Serum)
The test is aimed at determination of immunoglobulin G level — the main antibody of systemic immunity. Used to assess immune status and past infections. Prescribed for chronic infectious and autoimmune diseases.
What the test evaluates:
- Concentration of immunoglobulin G in blood serum
- Humoral immunity state and presence of past infections
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting
- Exclude intense physical activity 24 hours before
Medications:
Immunoglobulin and immunomodulator intake may distort results
Recommended for:
- Immunodeficiency conditions
- Chronic infections
- Prolonged inflammatory processes
Important: Results evaluated in combination with clinical data and other immunity markers.
Normal: IgG within normal range; immune system functioning adequately, no active infection signs
Elevated: IgG above normal; indicates past infection or active immune reaction
Reduced: IgG below normal; may indicate immunodeficiency and increased infection susceptibility
Physician consultation required for deviations.
