Lipid Profile (Lipid Panel)
Comprehensive fat metabolism study allowing assessment of cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis risk.
The test helps:
- detect lipid metabolism disorders
- assess atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease risk
- monitor diet and medication treatment efficacy
- detect heart attack and stroke risk factors
The study includes:
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein)
- LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein)
- Triglycerides
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Submit strictly fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Water intake is allowed
- Avoid alcohol and fatty food for 24-48 hours
- Avoid smoking and physical exertion/stress 30 minutes before
Medications: when taking lipid-lowering drugs, hormones, and other medications — inform the doctor; self-discontinuation of medications is not allowed
Prescribed for:
- cardiovascular diseases
- diabetes mellitus
- obesity and metabolic syndrome
- arterial hypertension
- preventive examinations
Elevated total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides — increased risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases
Decreased HDL — unfavorable prognostic factor
Normal values — low risk of cardiovascular complications
For abnormalities, consultation with a general practitioner and cardiologist is recommended. Self-treatment is contraindicated.
