Listeria monocytogenes Antibodies IgG, Anti-Listeria IgG (Serum)
The test determines IgG class antibodies to the listeriosis pathogen Listeria monocytogenes.
Used for detecting past infection or chronic listeriosis course.
Applied in examining patients with prolonged low-grade fever and neurological symptoms.
Especially important when planning and managing pregnancy.
Important: a positive result is assessed together with clinical data.
What the test assesses:
• Presence of IgG antibodies to Listeria monocytogenes in serum
• Fact of the body's contact with the pathogen and a formed immune response
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit fasting
• Avoid intense physical exertion for 24 hours
Medications:
• If possible, avoid antibacterial and immunomodulatory medications for 24-48 hours
Recommended for testing:
• When listeriosis or past infection is suspected
• When planning and during pregnancy
• With prolonged infectious conditions
Important: results are assessed in combination with clinical data.
Negative result
— IgG antibodies to Listeria monocytogenes not detected
— no contact with the pathogen or hidden infection
Positive result
— presence of IgG antibodies to Listeria monocytogenes
— indicates past infection or chronic contact with the pathogen
