Quantitative Determination of Anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae Antibodies IgG (ASCA), ELISA
The test detects antibodies to Saccharomyces cerevisiae class IgG (ASCA IgG), used for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, primarily Crohn's disease.
Composition (antibodies):
ASCA IgG — antibodies to Saccharomyces cerevisiae class IgG, marker of Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel disease
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Submit fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- Avoid stress and physical exertion 30 minutes before
- frequent diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, cramps
- blood and mucus in stool
- unexplained weight loss
- suspected Crohn's disease or other inflammatory bowel disease
- monitoring activity of already diagnosed disease
Negative result — ASCA IgG antibodies not detected.
Positive result — ASCA IgG antibodies detected, indicating an active inflammatory process characteristic of Crohn's disease.
Important: the result is assessed only together with clinical data and other laboratory indicators.
