Quantitative Determination of IgG Antibodies to Transglutaminase, ICL

The test detects IgG antibodies to tissue transglutaminase, used for diagnosing celiac disease, especially in patients with IgA deficiency, as well as for assessing disease activity and monitoring gluten-free diet adherence.

Biomaterial: Venous blood

  • Submit fasting (8-12 hours without food)
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid stress and physical exertion 30 minutes before
  • If taking immunomodulators, hormonal, or anti-inflammatory medications — inform the doctor.
  • suspected celiac disease
  • immunoglobulin IgA deficiency
  • chronic diarrhea or constipation of unknown origin
  • weight loss, anemia, or vitamin deficiency
  • nutrient absorption disorder
  • monitoring gluten-free diet adherence

Mechanism of abnormalities
In celiac disease, the immune system produces antibodies against the tissue transglutaminase enzyme, leading to small intestine mucosal inflammation, intestinal villi damage, and nutrient absorption disorder.

Negative result — tTG IgG antibodies not detected.

Positive result — tissue transglutaminase IgG antibodies detected, which may indicate celiac disease.

Important: the result is assessed only in combination with clinical symptoms and other laboratory indicators.
