RFMC (Soluble Fibrin Monomer Complexes)
The RFMC test is used for assessing the status of the blood coagulation and fibrinolysis system.
The study allows detection of increased fibrin product formation, which may indicate thrombosis, inflammatory processes, coagulation disorders, or active clot breakdown.
RFMC is an important indicator for early detection of thrombosis tendency and assessment of thromboembolic complication risk.
Test composition:
• Material: venous blood
• Method: enzyme immunoassay or coagulometric method
• Determined indicator: concentration of fibrin breakdown products (fibrin-monomer complexes) in blood plasma (µg/mL)
Causes of abnormalities: elevation — activation of clotting and fibrinolysis, thrombosis, inflammation, or vascular damage. Decrease — suppression of the fibrinolytic system.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
• Submit blood fasting
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
• Avoid physical exertion and stress before the test.
Medications:
• If taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or hormonal medications, inform the doctor before the test.
Prescribed for:
• Suspected thrombosis or thromboembolism.
• Tendency to bleeding or increased clotting.
• Cardiovascular system diseases.
• Inflammatory and infectious processes.
• Monitoring after surgical procedures or during anticoagulant therapy.
Recommended for:
• Patients with hemostasis disorders
• People with cardiovascular diseases
• Patients before or after surgery
Reference values depend on the laboratory method and are indicated on the result form.
Abnormalities require physician consultation and comprehensive assessment.
Important — RFMC is assessed together with other coagulogram indicators and is not a standalone diagnostic criterion.
