Rheumatoid Factor, Quantitative
Immunological marker allowing quantitative determination of rheumatoid factor level in blood for diagnosing and monitoring autoimmune diseases.
The test helps:
- diagnose rheumatoid arthritis
- assess the degree of autoimmune process activity
- monitor disease course and treatment efficacy
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Submit fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Water intake is allowed
- Avoid alcohol and fatty food for 24 hours
- Avoid smoking and physical exertion/stress 30 minutes before
Medications: when taking medications (especially hormonal and immunomodulatory) — inform the doctor; self-discontinuation of medications is not allowed
Prescribed for:
- joint pain, swelling, and stiffness
- suspected rheumatoid arthritis
- systemic connective tissue diseases
- dynamic monitoring by a rheumatologist
Elevation — rheumatoid arthritis, other autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory processes
Normal values — absence or low activity of autoimmune process (does not exclude early disease stages)
For abnormalities, consultation with a rheumatologist is recommended. Self-treatment is contraindicated.
