Rheumatoid factor (RF) total, quantitative (ICL)
The test quantitatively detects rheumatoid factor (RF) — autoantibodies to the Fc fragment of IgG immunoglobulins. Used for RA diagnosis, activity assessment, prognosis, and other autoimmune diseases.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting 8-12 hours (no water);
- exclude alcohol 24 hours before;
- avoid stress and physical activity 30 minutes before.
- Inform physician of immunomodulator, hormonal, or anti-inflammatory drug intake.
- Suspected rheumatoid arthritis;
- joint pain, swelling, stiffness;
- morning joint stiffness over 30 minutes;
- positive anti-MCV or equivocal clinical manifestations;
- established RA activity monitoring.
Negative — rheumatoid factor not detected.
Positive — antibodies detected; characteristic of rheumatoid arthritis.
Note: Results evaluated together with clinical symptoms and other parameters including anti-MCV.
