Stool culture on Yersinia without antibiotic sensitivity determination
Bacteriological stool culture for Yersinia detection causing intestinal yersiniosis. Confirms infection presence and microorganism quantity. Especially useful for diarrhea, abdominal pain, and other intestinal disease symptoms requiring pathogen identification.
Deviation mechanism: Yersinia bacteria penetrate intestine → mucosal inflammation, disrupting normal microflora. Culture detects microorganisms and quantity.
Recommended for: acute intestinal infection symptom patients; chronic or recurrent intestinal disorders; yersiniosis diagnosis confirmation; endemic region patient monitoring.
Stool in sterile container
Avoid antibiotics 48-72 hours before (by physician agreement)
Do not use laxatives or enemas 24 hours before
Collect fresh stool (not older than 2-3 hours)
Deliver to laboratory as quickly as possible
Prolonged or recurrent diarrhea; abdominal pain and cramps; weakness, elevated temperature, intoxication; suspected yersiniosis or intestinal infection of unknown origin; epidemiological indications.
Yersinia detected — infection confirmed.
Not detected — pathogens not found.
Physician makes final assessment.
Note: Sensitivity testing only when clinically significant organism detected.
Recommended physicians: Infectious disease specialist; General Practitioner; Pediatrician (children).
