Tacrolimus (Tacrolimus, Blood)
Determination of tacrolimus concentration in blood for therapy monitoring. Used for patients after organ transplantation.
What the test evaluates:
- Tacrolimus level in blood
- Safety and efficacy of immunosuppressive therapy
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood strictly as prescribed by physician
- Blood draw performed before next drug dose (trough level concentration)
Medications:
- Tacrolimus intake is mandatory to indicate
- Indicate exact dose, drug form, and time of last intake
Recommended for:
- Drug dose selection and adjustment
- Kidney transplantation and graft function monitoring
- Immunosuppression monitoring
Result evaluation performed strictly by physician considering drug dose, time of last intake, and patient clinical condition.
Therapeutic range: tacrolimus concentration must be within target range set by attending physician
Reduced level: risk of transplant rejection; insufficient immunosuppression
Elevated level: risk of toxic effects (nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, infections); excessive immunosuppression
Independent interpretation and dose change not permitted.
