Total anticardiolipin antibodies in serum by ICL method (IgA, IgG, IgM)
The test detects the presence and level of anticardiolipin autoantibodies, which increase thrombosis risk and are antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) markers. Used for primary and secondary APS diagnosis, especially in combination with SLE and other autoimmune diseases.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Do not drink water
- Exclude alcohol 24 hours before
- Avoid stress and physical activity 30 minutes before
- If taking anticoagulants, immunomodulators, or hormonal drugs — inform physician.
- Suspected antiphospholipid syndrome;
- unexplained venous or arterial thromboses;
- recurrent miscarriages or pregnancy complications;
- autoimmune diseases (e.g., SLE);
- disease activity monitoring.
Negative result — anticardiolipin antibodies not detected; APS risk low.
Positive result — anticardiolipin antibodies detected; characteristic of primary or secondary APS.
Important: assessment conducted only together with clinical picture, thrombosis history, and other studies.
