Transferrin Iron Saturation Coefficient (Calculated)
The test allows assessment of the degree of transferrin iron saturation — a protein that transports iron in the body. Used for diagnosing iron metabolism disorders, detecting iron deficiency or excess, and anemias of various origins.
Mechanism of abnormalities: decreased coefficient may indicate iron deficiency, increased losses, or absorption disorder. Elevation indicates iron excess or body overload (hemochromatosis).
Recommended for:
- people with anemia or suspected iron deficiency

- for monitoring iron supplement therapy
- with chronic inflammatory processes
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Submit fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Do not drink water
- Avoid iron-rich foods and trace element supplements for 24 hours
- Avoid intense physical exertion and stress
