Trichomonas vaginalis IgM
Test for detecting IgM antibodies to Trichomonas vaginalis. Used for early diagnosis of acute infection and assessment of disease activity. Allows determination of current infection and treatment necessity.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
Fasting for 8-12 hours; avoid alcohol and potent medications for 24 hours; avoid physical exertion and stress 30 minutes before.
Inform the doctor about antibiotic, immunomodulator, or hormonal medication use.
Acute symptoms of genitourinary system infection; discomfort or pain in the genital area; discharge; elevated temperature; suspected venereal diseases; contact with trichomoniasis patients; pregnancy planning or preparation for surgical procedures.
Negative — IgM antibodies to Trichomonas vaginalis not detected.
Positive — IgM antibodies detected, may indicate current or recently past infection, physician consultation required.
Important: presence of IgM does not always mean active disease.
