Trichomoniasis (IgG)
Test for detecting IgG antibodies to Trichomonas vaginalis. Used for screening, confirmation of past or chronic infection, assessment of immune response. Allows determination of specific IgG antibody presence and assessment of possible past disease.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
Fasting for 8-12 hours; avoid alcohol and potent medications for 24 hours; avoid physical exertion and stress 30 minutes before. Inform the doctor about antibiotic, immunomodulator, or hormonal medication use.
Chronic or recurring inflammatory processes of the genitourinary system; infertility or pregnancy complications; pain and discomfort in the genitourinary area; suspected venereal diseases; contact with trichomoniasis patients; pregnancy planning or preparation for surgical procedures.
Negative — IgG antibodies to trichomonas not detected.
Positive — IgG antibodies detected, may indicate past or chronic infection, physician consultation required.
Important: presence of IgG does not always indicate active disease.
