Vitamin B1 concentration determination (thiamine pyrophosphate), whole blood (Vitamin B1, Thiamine Pyrophosphate, Whole Blood)
The test determines the concentration of thiamine pyrophosphate - the active coenzyme form of vitamin B1 in whole blood. Vitamin B1 plays a key role in carbohydrate metabolism, cellular energy supply, and nervous system function. The study detects vitamin B1 deficiency, which can develop with chronic stress, alcoholism, GI diseases, and unbalanced diet.
Note: This test reflects the active form of vitamin B1 and is used for functional body supply assessment.
What the test evaluates:
- Thiamine pyrophosphate level in whole blood
- Vitamin B1 body supply
- Energy and carbohydrate metabolism condition
Biomaterial: Whole venous blood
- Draw blood fasting (8-12 hours without food)
- Exclude intense physical activity 24 hours before
Medications:
If possible, discontinue preparations and complexes containing vitamin B1 24-48 hours before
- For vitamin status assessment
- With neurological symptoms
- With cardiovascular system functional disorders
- With nutrient absorption disorders
Low vitamin B1 - possible deficiency - energy metabolism and nervous system function disorder
Normal level - sufficient vitamin B1 supply
Elevated level - may be associated with vitamin preparation intake or therapy features
Important: Vitamin therapy prescription and correction determined by physician.
