The test determines the level of vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) in blood serum - one of the main antioxidants protecting cells from oxidative stress and participating in maintaining the nervous, muscular, and immune systems. The study helps detect vitamin E deficiency, which can be associated with fat absorption disorders, liver and intestinal diseases, and increased body requirements.
Biomaterial: Venous blood
- Draw blood fasting
- Exclude fatty food and alcohol 24 hours before
- Avoid intense physical activity 24 hours before
Medications:
If possible, discontinue vitamin preparations and complexes 24-48 hours before
If discontinuation is not possible, indicate medications taken
- Increased fatigue
- Muscle weakness, cramps
