Breast Ultrasound
Breast ultrasound is a safe and informative examination that evaluates the tissue structure of the breasts and detects possible changes.
During the examination, the physician assesses the condition of the glandular, fatty, and connective tissue, and can identify cysts, nodular formations, signs of inflammatory processes, and other changes. Regional lymph nodes are also assessed when necessary.
The method is widely used for the early diagnosis of breast conditions and monitoring of previously identified changes. Ultrasound is particularly informative in younger women and can be used as a standalone examination or in combination with other diagnostic methods.
The procedure is performed using an ultrasound probe through the skin of the breast area. The examination is painless, safe, and takes approximately 10–15 minutes.

No special preparation is required.
Recommended:
- schedule the examination on days 5–12 of the menstrual cycle (the most informative period);
- wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the chest area;
- do not apply creams or cosmetic products to the breast area before the examination;
- bring previous ultrasound or mammography results or physician recommendations if available.
The patient receives the doctor's report after the procedure.
Breast ultrasound is recommended for:
- pain or discomfort in the chest area
- appearance of lumps or formations
- nipple discharge
- changes in the shape or structure of the breast
- enlarged lymph nodes in the axillary area
- routine preventive checkup
