Duodenal Intubation
Duodenal intubation is a diagnostic procedure in which a special probe is inserted through the mouth into the duodenum. Using it, the contents of the duodenum and bile from the gallbladder and bile ducts are collected in portions for subsequent laboratory examination.
The method allows assessment of the biliary tract condition, detection of inflammatory processes (cholecystitis, duodenitis), parasitic invasions (giardiasis), bile secretion disorders, and biliary dyskinesia. Performed in the morning on an empty stomach and takes 1 to 2 hours.

Preparation:
- The procedure is performed strictly on an empty stomach — last meal no later than 8:00 PM the evening before
- 3 days before: exclude fatty foods, alcohol, legumes, and gas-producing foods
- 5 days before: discontinue choleretic medications, antispasmodics, and antibiotics — by physician agreement
- Do not smoke on the day of the procedure
- Bring a towel and change of clothing
- Arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time — the procedure requires preliminary psychological preparation and a calm state
