Earwax Plug Removal (one ear)
Earwax plug removal is an ENT procedure aimed at clearing the external ear canal of earwax accumulations that may cause ear stuffiness, hearing loss, and discomfort. The procedure is performed by an otorhinolaryngologist using special instruments or irrigation and usually takes 5–10 minutes.
How the procedure is performed
Before removal, the physician examines the ear using an otoscope to assess the ear canal and eardrum condition. The earwax plug is removed using one of these methods: irrigation of the ear canal with special solution • removal using instruments (hook, tweezers, aspiration). The method is chosen by the physician depending on plug density and ear condition.
