Tonsil Irrigation
Tonsil irrigation is a therapeutic ENT procedure aimed at cleansing the lacunae of the palatine tonsils from purulent plugs, bacteria, and inflammatory contents.
How the procedure is performed:
- the physician examines the throat and assesses the condition of the tonsils
- a special solution is delivered into the tonsil lacunae
- inflammatory contents and plugs are flushed out
- the procedure takes several minutes
For better results, the physician may recommend a course of procedures.

Preparation:
- avoid eating for 1–2 hours before the procedure
- rinse the throat with clean water before the procedure
- inform the physician about any allergies to medications
Indications:
- chronic tonsillitis
- purulent plugs in the tonsils
- bad breath
- frequent sore throat or throat discomfort
- sensation of a foreign body or discomfort in the throat
