Uterine Cavity Aspiration
Uterine cavity aspiration is a gynecological procedure in which a special instrument is used to carefully remove the contents of the uterine cavity or collect an endometrial (uterine lining) sample for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. The method is minimally traumatic and safe, performed under sterile conditions, and usually takes 10–15 minutes.
How the procedure is performed
The procedure is performed by a gynecologist using a thin sterile aspiration instrument. The collected material is sent to the laboratory for histological analysis. In most cases the procedure is well tolerated and does not require lengthy recovery.

Preparation
- undergo gynecological examination
- perform pelvic ultrasound
- take required tests (as prescribed by physician)
- avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal medications, and douching 1–2 days before
- follow physician recommendations regarding medication intake
After the procedure
Mild pulling pain in the lower abdomen or moderate spotting may be observed for several days — this is a normal bodily response. Seek medical attention if severe pain, fever, or heavy discharge occurs.
