Temporary Incapacity Assessment — Sick Leave
Temporary incapacity assessment is a medical evaluation of the patient's health condition, on the basis of which the physician decides on temporary exemption from work and issues a sick leave certificate. A sick leave certificate is an official medical document confirming temporary loss of work capacity due to illness, injury, or treatment need.
Sick leave is issued for:
- acute conditions
- exacerbation of chronic conditions
- injuries
- infectious diseases
- post-surgical or post-procedure recovery
- treatment and recovery under physician supervision
To obtain sick leave:
- visit the physician
- undergo medical examination
- take tests or additional examinations if needed
When issuing sick leave, the consultation fee plus three sick days are charged.
What sick leave contains:
- opening and closing dates
- period of incapacity
- required medical data
- physician's signature and medical organization stamp
Extension
Sick leave may be extended after repeat examination if the patient's condition requires further treatment or recovery.
