Periodic Medical Examinations for Employees

Periodic medical examination (PME) of employees is a mandatory preventive examination conducted for employees working in conditions involving harmful and hazardous occupational factors, as well as for certain categories of workers, in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Public Health and the Healthcare System" and orders of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose is early detection of occupational and general diseases, assessment of an employee's fitness for specific work, and prevention of occupational injuries.

Such examinations allow timely disease detection, prevention of occupational conditions, and ensure workplace safety.

Medical examinations are mandatory for employees engaged in:

• harmful or hazardous working conditions
• increased physical workload
• work with people, food products, or medical devices
• heightened responsibility

The medical examination may include:

• general physician examination
• specialist consultations
• electrocardiography (ECG)
• fluorography
• laboratory tests
• other diagnostic examinations

Based on examination results, a medical report on employee health status and work clearance is issued. The clinic prepares a final periodic medical examination report for submission to the employer. The examination is conducted in an organized manner — for the entire organization or by individual employer referral.

The clinic visits the institution or receives organized groups under a contractual agreement.
